RED SOX SIGN FOUR PLAYERS SELECTED IN 2016 JUNE DRAFT
BOSTON, MA – The Boston Red Sox have signed four players selected in the 2016 June Draft.
Director of Amateur Scouting Mike Rikard made the announcement.
The signings include outfielders Ryan Scott (7th round) and Matt McLean (9th round), catcher Nick Sciortino (17th round), and shortstop Nick Lovullo (20th round). Lovullo, son of Red Sox Bench Coach Torey Lovullo, was previously selected by the Red Sox in the 34th round of the 2015 June Draft. The 22-year-old returned to Worcester’s College of the Holy Cross for his senior season in 2016, leading the Crusaders in runs scored (42) and walks (40) while posting a .363 on-base percentage in 56 games.
